In addition to a contract for seals awarded end of 2008, SKF (STO:SKFA)(STO:SKFB)(LSE:SKFB)(Pink Sheets:SKFRY) has won a new contract for the supply of tapered roller bearings to Fuwa. The contract is valid for 3 years and is worth up to 4.5 million USD per year.
Fuwa supplies trailer axles to both Chinese and international manufacturers. As Fuwa’s export business has grown, the interest for higher performance bearings has increased. These tapered roller bearings will be used for trailer axles for export to markets with higher performance demands.
Mr Zhiqiang Wu, Chairman, Fuwa, says: “SKF can truly support us on a global basis for our new product development such as steer axles. Fuwa feels to be in very good hands in cooperating with SKF developing our global expansion.”

In competition with both international companies and domestic Chinese suppliers, SKF has been awarded a contract for supplying of seals for the trailer axle by Guangdong Fuwa Engineering Manufacturing Co. Ltd. Fuwa is the largest trailer axle manufacturer in the world, headquartered in Shunde city, Guangdong Province, China, with customers in a number of countries in Asia, Australia, Middle East, Americas, Europe, and Africa. This 3 year contract comes into effect 2009 and involves deliveries of 600,000 seals per year. Amy Wu, Director of Fuwa, says: “We found that the SKF Scotseal solution offered more benefits, such as the significantly longer service life time, overall high quality, and strong performance”. “I am very pleased with this positive result after an extensive evaluation period, where we have proved that our solution provides Fuwa with true value added benefits”, says Ulrich Selig, Head Truck Sales Asia, SKF China. The seals will be produced in the SKF factory in Wuhu, China.

WABCO Holdings Inc. today announced that WABCO has completed its agreement with Guangdong FUWA Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., (Fuwa) to form a joint venture for production of air disc brakes in China. Fuwa is the largest manufacturer of commercial trailer axles in China and in the world.
As previously announced, WABCO will have a 70 percent holding and Fuwa will have a 30 percent holding in the joint venture, which will be located at Fuwa’s newly established manufacturing facility in Taishan, Guangdong, China. The joint venture will encompass manufacturing, assembly and testing of air disc brakes for commercial trailers. Financial details are not being disclosed.
“The completion of our partnership agreement with Fuwa is another mark of WABCO’s continued success in globalizing our reach and growing our presence across the world,” said Jacques Esculier, WABCO Chief Executive Officer. “Our ambition in the next few years is to manufacture air disc brakes to equip up to 250,000 axles.”

WABCO Holdings Inc. today announced that WABCO has signed a letter of intent with GuangDong Fuwa Engineering Manufacturing Co., Ltd., (Fuwa) to form a joint venture for production of air disc brakes in China. Fuwa is the world’s largest manufacturer of commercial trailer axles.
It is expected that the joint venture agreement will be finalized by year-end, and that WABCO will have a 70 percent holding and Fuwa will have a 30 percent holding in the joint venture, which will be located at Fuwa’s newly established manufacturing facility in Taishan, Guangdong, China.

In July 2004, according to the revelation, Suizhou Administration for Industry and Commerce of Hubei Province inspected and found that XX Special Vehicle Manufacturing Co., Ltd. of Suizhou installed “Fuwa” trademark trailer on their trailers without the authorization of “Fuwa” trademark owner - Fuwa Mechanical Private Co., Ltd. (Singapore). According to Item 2 of Article 52 in Trademark Law of the People’s Republic of China, their action has offended the exclusive right of “Fuwa” trademark owner. On September 2, 2004, Suizhou Administration for Industry and Commerce made the following punishments in accordance with the laws to Suizhou XX Special Vehicle Manufacturing Co., Ltd: 1. that company must stop their offensive action immediately; 2. their 21 trailer axles with “Fuwa” trademark would be confiscated and sealed up, and another 6 trailer axles which had been installed on the trailers had been removed and confiscated; 3. the company would be fined 132,300 Yuan RMB.

ANG Exports Ltd engaged in auto ancillary business, said on Friday that it has entered into a MoU with Chinese Fuwa Engineering Company Ltd to set up a joint venture company in India.
The JV company will entail an investment of 6 million dollar in the next 12 months and will manufacture trailers, trailer axles and other components, ANG Exports informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Fuwa will hold 10.5 per cent stake in the proposed JV company being incorporated in the name of ANG FUWA Ltd in India, it said.
Fuwa shall appoint one director in the board of the new company, it added.
ANG Exports Ltd manufactures and exports trailer axle, transmission and air-brake components.

ANG Exports Ltd, a multi-product manufacturers and exporter of automobile components to OEMs in the US and Europe and China's Fuwa Engineering Company Ltd., will set up a joint venture in India to manufacture trailers, trailer axles and other components.
ANG will set up a subsidiary under the proposed name of ANG Fuwa Ltd, at an investment of $6 million, in which the Chinese company will hold 10.5 per cent of the equity and have one director on its board. ANG says commercial production is expected commence in the next one year.
ANG Exports Ltd is a large manufacturers and exporter of products for trailer axles, transmission and air-brake components like anchor pins, rollers and axle spindles and different mechanical applications.
